Halifax Urban Ministries (HUM) was founded in 1980 by the Halifax Area Ministerial Association representing the faith community of the greater Halifax Area. From its beginning it has served as a direct extension of local faith communities by developing community outreach programs. Since 1990 HUM has taken a leadership role in developing services for and advocating for the homeless and poor of our community. Their prime mission is to prevent homelessness through the distribution of food and emergency financial support.

On the first Thursday each month, St. Paul's volunteers prepare meals for the needy at Hope Place Family Shelter run by HUM. Contact Laura at 386-566-9139 if you can help or for more information.
